Reighard Machine Inc. was founded in 1946 by Elwood "Jake" Reighard. Jake learned hydraulics during his time serving in the US Army in WWII. That business started and gained a reputation for quality in a small garage for its first 30 years. In 1967, Don Sauter started his employment with Reighard Machine. Don worked for and learned from Jake for over 20 years until Jake's passing in 1988. In 1989, Don and Carol Sauter bought the business.

By this time, the name Reighard Machine had become very well known in the area for the quality work performed on mainly telescopic hydraulic cylinders. Over the next several years, the building was expanded, and the types of cylinders worked on grew. In 2008, it was time for another transition. Don and Carol passed the business on to their son, Bryan, and his wife, Jocelyn. Since then, Bryan, Jocelyn, and the knowledgeable staff at Reighard Machine have been working to ensure the quality of work produced is the same quality that customers have come to know for nearly 80 years.
